The Jason-3 satellite, set to launch in 2016, will collect critical sea surface height data, adding to a satellite data record going back to 1992. The Jason-3 mission is an international partnership between Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES), European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
