The latest version of the World Magnetic Model has been released. WMM2020 is one of the key tools used to model changes in Earth's magnetic field. Developed by NCEI and the British Geological Survey, it is a representation of the planet’s magnetic field that gives compasses dependable accuracy and underlies all modern navigation systems, including more than a billion smartphones with navigation apps. The World Magnetic Model is also a vital part of daily military and commercial operations around the world.
